What is Prepare?
Prepare is Read's dedicated space for meeting prep, designed to help you show up to every meeting informed and ready to contribute. It brings your upcoming meetings together with pre-reads generated by Read AI in one view, so you can get up to speed in the minutes before a call without searching through past notes, emails, and action items.
Prepare is available only in the Read web app and requires a connected calendar. If you haven't connected one yet, you'll be prompted to, and your meetings will appear once they finish syncing.
Viewing your meetings
Prepare opens to today's meetings:
- Next shows your upcoming meeting, with its pre-read expanded.
- Later today lists the rest of your meetings. Select a meeting to expand it.
Scroll up to see earlier meetings from earlier in the day or switch to Tomorrow to look ahead.
Joining upcoming meetings
To join a meeting from the Prepare page, click 'Join' next to the meeting.
Inviting Read AI to upcoming meetings
To have Read join an upcoming meeting, turn on the Invite Read AI toggle before the meeting starts, just like on the Calendar page.
Reviewing pre-reads
A pre-read is an AI-generated brief with the context you need for a meeting. They use context from your meetings with Read, and the other integrations you have connected (email, CRMs, Slack, etc) to generate personalized briefs, shown only to you. For eligible meetings, pre-reads appear about 36 hours in advance and refresh again about 1 hour before the meeting. Each pre-read shows when it was last updated.
You'll also receive a pre-read email about 1 hour before each eligible meeting. The email link opens the meeting in Prepare with the full brief loaded in Ask Read. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.
In some cases, a pre-read isn't available for a meeting. When that happens, you'll see a note explaining why. You can still use Ask Read to help you prepare.
Going deeper with Ask Read
Use Ask Read to ask questions about your upcoming meetings or help you prepare further, without leaving the Prepare experience. To help you get started, Ask Read offers suggested prompts like "Brief for my next meeting."
To explore a pre-read further, select Go deeper. This opens the pre-read in Ask Read so you can ask follow-up questions.
