If you want Read to leave a meeting partway through but still get a meeting report for the part it recorded, you have two options: type "Read stop" in the meeting chat, or have the host remove Read from the meeting. Either way, Read leaves the meeting and creates a report from what it captured up to that point.
Note: If you type "Opt out" or click the opt-out link instead, Read leaves the meeting and deletes everything it recorded. No report is created.
Option 1: Type "Read stop" in the chat (any participant)
This works on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet when Read joins as a participant.
- Open the meeting chat.
- Type Read stop (without quotation marks) and send it.
- Read leaves the meeting and creates a report covering everything up to that point.
If Read records through Google Meet native recording, chat commands don't work. Instead, click the Read AI logo at the top right, then click Stop sharing.
Option 2: Remove Read from the meeting (host)
On Zoom, the host can remove Read like any other participant:
- Hover over Read's participant window and click the ... menu. Alternatively, click the Participants button and click the ... next to Read.
- Select Remove.
- In the pop-up, uncheck Report to Zoom, then click Remove.
- Read leaves the meeting and processes the recording made before it was removed.
For Microsoft Teams and Google Meet steps, see How to remove Read from an ongoing meeting.
