You may have several email addresses and calendars with meetings that you want to use Read with. Read doesn't let you connect an unlimited number of email or calendar accounts to a single Read account, but there are some options that let you use your Read account across multiple calendars.
Connect separate Google, Outlook, and Zoom calendars
You can connect separate accounts for your Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, and Zoom integrations from Account Settings > Integrations (or your Integrations page). You can connect one account for each of these integrations.
If a meeting appears on more than one of these calendars (for example, if you sync your Zoom calendar to your Google account), Read will show multiple instances on your Calendar page. However, Read recognizes that these are the same meeting and only sends one Read Assistant to the call.
If you use Google or Microsoft single sign-on, you can use a different account for your connected calendars if you want (the same is not true for Zoom). You can't connect more than one Google, Microsoft, or Zoom account for your connected calendars, but you can always disconnect your current one and connect a new one under Account Settings > Integrations. To disconnect, open the calendar, click Disconnect, and confirm with Yes, Disconnect Calendar. If the calendar is used by your Smart Scheduler links, you'll need to turn those links off first. If you connect both a Google and an Outlook calendar, use Set as default calendar on the calendar you want as your default.
Zoom meetings: Read can only join a Zoom meeting if you've connected your Zoom account to Read and you're in the meeting, signed in to that same Zoom account. See Upcoming Changes to Zoom Meetings for how to connect Zoom.
Share calendars on the Google/Outlook side
A single Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook account can contain several calendars. Read will try to pull in all calendars listed under the "My calendars" section in Google Calendar and Outlook.
You can see these calendars and turn them on or off individually for syncing with Read on your Integrations page:
If you have several Google and/or Outlook accounts that you want to use with Read, you may be able to share those calendars with your main account (the one connected to Read) through Google or Outlook.
- This Google support article explains how to share your calendar from one account to another.
- Shared calendars will usually appear under "Other calendars" at first. You need to get them under "My calendars" for Read to be able to sync with them. Google has an FAQ about this here.
- After sharing, you should see the calendars listed under Your synced calendars in Integrations > Google Calendar. Make sure to turn your new calendar(s) on for syncing.
- If you don't see the new calendars, disconnect and reconnect your calendar account to force a refresh.
Outlook
- This Microsoft support article explains how to share your calendar from one account to another. We recommend sharing with maximum permissions to help avoid issues.
- Like with Google, shared calendars must be listed under "My calendars" in Outlook for Read to be able to sync with them.
- This only works if the account you have connected to Read is a paid (work or school) Outlook account.
- After sharing, you should see the calendars listed under Integrations > Outlook Calendar. Make sure to turn your new calendar(s) on for syncing.
- If you don't see the new calendars, disconnect and reconnect your calendar account to force a refresh.
"Add Read" or auto-join
| On your Read Calendar page, meetings from shared calendars do not have the Add Read? toggle turned on automatically. Only meetings from your primary calendar have it turned on. If you want Read to join meetings from a shared calendar, turn on Add Read? for each of those meetings individually. |
Logging in to Read from multiple sign-in methods
Every Read account has a single "primary" email address, which starts out as the address you used to create the account. However, you can add (and remove) other ways to log in to your account under Account Settings > Profile & Account, in the Sign-In Methods section. To add another sign-in method (for example, a Google, Microsoft, or Zoom account), click Add SSO in that section.
The accounts you use to sign in are associated with your Read account. This means that if you join a meeting using one of these accounts (for example, if you use your Microsoft account to join a Teams meeting), Read can recognize you and map your participant data from the call back to your Read account.
