Ask Read is Read AI’s search and chat tool. It brings together your meeting transcripts, email, chat, documents, and CRM data. With Ask Read actions, you can also have Ask Read act on what it finds, such as sending an email, updating your CRM, or setting up a meeting.
What are Ask Read actions?
Actions let Ask Read do things in other apps for you. You ask a question, and then tell Ask Read what to do with the answer. For example: “Send an email with this information” or “Update my CRM with these next steps.”
Supported actions
Ask Read can currently do four things:
CRM update
Update a deal in your CRM based on what happened in a meeting.
Example: After a call with a client, open the meeting report and ask:
“Summarize the next steps from this call and update the Acme deal in HubSpot.”
- Works with HubSpot and Salesforce.
- You need a CRM integration connected to Read. CRM integrations are available on Pro, Enterprise, and Enterprise+ plans.
Send an email straight from Ask Read, such as a quick follow-up for people who won’t read the full meeting report.
- Open the meeting report.

In the Ask Read search bar, type something like:
“Send a summary of this meeting to jordan@example.com”
- Ask Read writes a draft. Review it and ask for any changes.
- When you’re happy with it, type “Send it.”
The email goes to the person you named, and you also get a copy.
Calendar
Set up a meeting.
Example:
“Set up a meeting called ‘Q3 launch review’ with jordan@example.com and sam@example.com next Tuesday at 2pm. Description: review launch timeline.”
Give Ask Read the meeting title, attendees, and time. A description is optional. The event will appear on your connected calendar shortly.
Scheduled updates
Get regular email updates on a topic. Ask Read searches the web for news on the topic and sends you an update on the day and time you choose.
Example:
“Every Monday at 9am, email me the latest news about AI regulation in the EU.”
To see past updates: On the Ask Read page, click All Chat History in the Recent Chats panel and find your original request. It shows the results of each scheduled run.
