This article explains how to turn on Readouts for your account or Workspace. To learn what Readouts are, see Readouts: Summaries for your Email and Messaging.
Readouts take about a minute to set up. Users on the Free plan get 14 days of Readouts. After that, you’ll need a paid plan to keep getting them.
Supported platforms
Readouts currently support:
- Email: Gmail and Outlook
- Messaging: Slack and Microsoft Teams
If you’d like Readouts to support another app, please contact Read Support to share your feedback.
Enabling Readouts for your account
- Connect to any of the Readout integrations by going to Account Settings > Integrations.
- After connecting, your first Readout may take a little while to generate. You can track its progress on your Reports page.
If an integration shows as disabled, a Workspace admin will need to turn it on first (see Enabling Readouts for your Workspace).
Enabling Readouts for your Workspace
Readouts are turned off for Workspaces by default. A Workspace owner or admin can turn them on:
- Go to Workspace Settings > Settings and expand the Integrations section.
- Scroll down to Productivity and turn on the switch for each integration you want to allow.
Each member of your Workspace still needs to connect the integration for their own account.
Sharing your Readouts
Readouts are private to your account by default. To share one with other Read users, click Share at the top of the report. You can stop sharing at any time.
You can also send a Readout through Slack, Teams, or email using the Send Via… button. This lets you choose what information to include.
Managing Readout notifications
To choose how and when you’re notified about Readouts, go to Account Settings > Notifications and update your Topic Readouts settings.
If you use Microsoft Teams, you can also get Daily Summaries sent to you in Teams.
