This article covers what data Read AI captures, where it is stored, who can access it, how long it is kept, and questions about selling, sharing, and AI training.
What gets captured
When Read AI joins a meeting, it:
- Captures audio and video
- Generates a transcript
- Produces a summary with action items and highlights
- Includes the meeting recording in the report, depending on your tier
That data is stored in your Read AI account. Only you and the people you explicitly share with can access it.
Does Read AI sell your data?
No.
Does Read AI share your meeting data with other companies?
No. Meeting content stays in your account and is accessible only to you and the people you explicitly share with.
Does Read AI use your meetings to train its AI?
Not without your explicit opt-in. The only exception is the Customer Experience Improvement Program, which is opt-out by default and used to evaluate product performance. About 10 to 15 percent of users choose to join.
If you have not opted in, your meeting content is not used to train Read AI's models.
Personalization
Read AI uses your meetings to personalize the product for you. Over time, it learns who is on your team, what your recurring priorities look like, and what kinds of follow-ups tend to come out of your conversations.
That personalization stays inside your own account. It is not shared with other customers, not combined with other customers' data, not transmitted to third parties, and not sold. If you delete your account, the personalization data is deleted with it.
Where your data is stored and for how long
Your organization can control how much is stored. You can limit or disable transcript storage while still receiving summaries, action items, and insights. This is useful for teams in regulated industries and for any organization that wants to minimize the stored content surface over time.
Retention controls are in Account Settings.
Can Read AI employees listen to your calls?
Read AI employees do not listen to customer calls as part of operating the product. Access to customer data is strictly controlled and audited regularly by an independent third party.
What happens if you delete your account?
If you delete your Read AI account, your information is deleted with it.
