Everyone uses Read in their own way, so here are some examples of what you could say when an attendee asks you what Read is. Feel free to use one or several, or come up with your own.
By default, the Read Assistant shows up in meetings as "read.ai meeting notes", unless the meeting report owner has changed its name. Other names people can choose include "Meeting Analytics from Read", "<first name>'s Assistant", and "<first name>'s Notetaker". See How can I customize the Read Assistant name that shows during meetings?
Examples of what you can say
- "I added Read to the call to take notes so that I can focus on the conversation."
- "Read creates a transcript, summary, and action items after the meeting, so nothing we discuss gets missed."
- "I use Read so I can easily remember what we decided and what the next steps are."
- "I added Read to keep an eye on how much I speak in the meeting, to make sure I leave room for others to participate."
- "I use Read's meeting coach to get feedback on how I communicate, like my talking speed and filler words."
- "I added Read so I can see engagement and sentiment for the topics we discuss."
- "I added Read to help me improve the way I collaborate with others."
If an attendee doesn't want to be recorded
Attendees don't need a Read account to opt out, and they can do it before, during, or after the meeting:
- Before the meeting: If they received an email letting them know the meeting will be recorded, they can use the opt-out link in that email. Read won't join the meeting.
- During the meeting: Any participant can type "Opt out" in the meeting chat or use the opt-out link Read shares. Read leaves the meeting and deletes everything it captured, and no report is created.
- After the meeting: They can go to the Account & Privacy Center and choose Delete Report. This sends a deletion request to the meeting report owner.
