Getting Started with Zapier

This guide explains how to connect Read AI to Zapier so you can build Zaps that automate your post-meeting workflow.

With Zaps, you can automatically pull your meeting notes (summary, action items, key questions, and more), along with details like the meeting date, time, and participant list. You can then send that data to any app Zapier supports, such as Google Docs or Salesforce. Zaps trigger automatically when a new meeting report is first created, as long as you have at least Viewer access to it.

Note: Some workflows may require a separate paid Zapier subscription.

Guide

  1. Sign in to Read AI. Create an account or sign in to your existing one. To use Read integrations, you must be on a free Enterprise trial or a paid plan (Pro, Enterprise, or Enterprise+).

  2. Generate an API key. Go to the Zapier integration page and click Generate API Key. Copy the key; you’ll need it in step 5.

  3. Create a Zap. Click Configure in Zapier, then sign in to Zapier or create an account. Click Create Zap in the upper left.

  4. Add the Read AI trigger. Search for the Read AI app and add it to your Zap. Select the New Meeting Notes event, which triggers your Zap when meeting notes are ready after a meeting ends. Click Continue.

  5. Connect your Read account. Click Sign in, paste the API key you copied in step 2, and click Yes, Continue to Read AI. Screen Shot 2023-07-24 at 12.25.15 PM.png

  6. Test the trigger. Click Test trigger and wait for the results. A successful test shows sample data. You won’t see real meeting data until setup is finished and a new report is created. Click Continue with selected record.

  7. Optional: format your meeting data. Read AI offers a Zap template that uses JavaScript to format the transcript, chapter summaries, and participant data, so you can drag those fields straight into later steps. Click Try this template and add it to your Zap.
  8. Add your next steps. You’re all set! Add any steps you want to your Zap. For example, you could send the meeting summary to a Google Doc or update a contact in Salesforce. Screen Shot 2023-07-24 at 12.55.44 PM.png

Why did my Zapier integration stop working?

  • If Read fails to send data to Zapier 25 times in a row, it turns off the Zapier integration automatically.

  • Zapier is only available on paid plans, so the integration also stops if your subscription ends.

  • To turn it back on, delete your Zapier API key in Read and generate a new one.
