Overview
Read’s HubSpot UI Extension brings the power of Search Copilot and meeting insights directly into your HubSpot interface. By adding custom Read app cards to your HubSpot records, you can search across your entire knowledge base—including HubSpot, meetings, emails, and documents—directly from HubSpot. You can also play back videos for recent meetings related to your contacts, companies, or deals, streamlining your workflow and keeping all the context you need at your fingertips.
Key Features
- Search Copilot Card: Run AI-powered searches and get answers from all your connected sources (HubSpot, meetings, emails, docs, and more).
- Recent Meetings Card: Instantly view and play back recent meetings associated with the current HubSpot record, including participants, meeting summaries, and action items.
- Flexible Placement: Add cards to the overview tab or side panel of any contact, company, or deal record.
- Workspace-Level Setup: Admins can enable the extension for the entire workspace, ensuring consistent access and usage across the team.
Prerequisites
- You must have the Read AI integration connected to your HubSpot account. (See Connecting Your Read Account to HubSpot for details.)
- Being a Super Admin or having the “Customize record page layout” permission in HubSpot is required to add or configure app cards for your organization.
- Your HubSpot data must be fully synced with Read to use search; you’ll receive an email notification when this is complete.
How to Enable the Read App Cards in HubSpot
- Log in to HubSpot as a Super Admin or user with the “Customize record page layout” permission.
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps and select the Read AI app.
- Navigate to the App cards tab.
- Enable the Search Copilot card and/or the Recent Meetings card for the record types you want (contacts, companies, deals).
- Choose where you want each card to appear:
- Overview Tab: Main content area for quick access.
- Side Panel: For a more compact, always-visible experience.
- Save your changes. The cards will now appear on the selected records for all users in your workspace.
Using the Search Copilot Card
- Enter your question or prompt in the Search Copilot card (e.g., “Summarize all recent activity for this deal,” “Show open action items for this contact”).
- The AI will return an answer using data from HubSpot, meetings, emails, and more.
- Enable citations or expand the “Related Content” below the response to view full reports or sources cited by Search Copilot.
Using the Recent Meetings Card
- View a list of up to five recent meetings associated with the current record.
- See meeting titles, dates, participants, and action items at a glance.
- Play back meeting recordings and highlights directly within HubSpot (requires the Read Enterprise plan).
- Expand to see more details or click through to the full meeting report in Read.
- Note: this will only show meetings that you have access to in Read and also have been pushed to HubSpot either automatically or manually (i.e. as a “Meeting” record associated with a deal/contact/company).
Tips & Customization
- Anyone with the “Customize record page layout” permission can add, remove, or rearrange cards at any time from the App cards tab.
- Cards can be placed in either the overview tab or side panel, depending on your workflow preferences.
- For best results, keep your Read integration and HubSpot data in sync.
Troubleshooting
- If you don’t see the cards, check with your HubSpot admin to ensure the Read AI app and cards are enabled for your user role and record type.
- If cards are not displaying content, confirm that you're logged into Read, your integration is active and your HubSpot data is synced.
- Some features (like video playback or searching premium integrations) may require additional permissions and/or a Read paid plan.
