By analyzing your meetings, emails, and deal activity, Read proactively suggests when a deal in HubSpot is ready to advance to the next stage – saving you time, reducing manual updates, and helping you close more business.

Prerequisites
- Your Read account must be connected to HubSpot (see Connecting Your Read Account to HubSpot).
- You must have the appropriate permissions in HubSpot to view and update deals.
- Deal stage recommendations are available on Read’s Pro and Enterprise plans.
How Deal Stage Recommendations Work
- Read continuously monitors your HubSpot deals, relevant meetings, and email activity.
- When the AI detects that a deal is likely ready for the next stage (e.g., after a positive meeting, completed action items, or key milestones), you’ll receive a recommendation.
- Recommendations appear in your Read dashboard at the top of the Reports page
How to Use Deal Stage Recommendations
- Review Recommendations
- Go to the Reports page and check the box for “Your CRM Recommendations” to see if there are any new recommendations (make sure the box is expanded).
- You may see one or more deals listed with suggested next stages and a summary of the supporting evidence (e.g., recent meetings, sentiment, mentions of key phrases).
- Take Action
- If you agree with the recommendation, click the provided button to update the deal stage directly in HubSpot.
- If you disagree, click the dismiss button.
- Optionally, click on the deal name to view it in HubSpot, and add notes or comments for your team.
- Track Progress
- Updated deals will reflect the new stage immediately in HubSpot.
- Continue to monitor recommendations to keep your pipeline current.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use recommendations as a starting point—always review the supporting context before updating a deal.
- Share feedback on recommendations to help improve AI accuracy over time.
- Combine with Search Copilot to ask follow-up questions like “Which deals are stalled?” or “Show me deals ready to close this month.”
Troubleshooting
- If you’re not seeing recommendations, ensure your HubSpot integration is active and the “Incorporate HubSpot Data into Read” setting is enabled.
- Note that you will only get recommendations for deals that you own.
- Some recommendations may not appear immediately after a meeting or email; allow time for data processing.
- For access issues, check your Read plan and HubSpot permissions.
