This Zap template creates or updates a HubSpot contact for each participant in your Read AI meetings.
Do you need this Zap? Read’s HubSpot integration can create new contacts automatically when it pushes meeting notes. Turn on Create new HubSpot Contacts in your integration settings. See Connecting Your Read Account to HubSpot. Use this Zap only if you need more control, such as custom field mapping or extra steps in Zapier.
Before you start:
- Set up Zapier with Read. See Getting Started with Zapier.
- Some workflows may need a paid Zapier subscription.
Set up the template
- Open the template. Go to the Read AI to HubSpot contact Zap template.
- Connect your accounts. Connect your HubSpot and Read accounts.
- Test each step. Go through each step and test it as you go. Testing loads sample data, so you can choose the right fields in later steps.
-
Set up the loop. Open the Create Loop from Line Items in Looping by Zapier step and go to its Action section. Add the email field from the previous step. You can also add other participant fields, like first_name and last_name, and meeting fields like report_url. Meeting fields are added to every participant’s line item.
-
Skip participants without an email. Open the Only continue if… step and set it to email › exists. This makes sure the Zap only tries to create HubSpot contacts that have an email address. Some participants may not have an email in Read. This can happen if they weren’t invited through a calendar event, Read couldn’t match their meeting name to an email, or the meeting had no calendar event.
-
Map the HubSpot fields. Open the Create or Update Contact in HubSpot step and go to its Action tab. In the Email field, select Email from the Create Loop step. You can also map other fields, like first and last name.
- Test and publish. Finish testing your steps, then turn on your Zap.
