Applying a template
You can apply a report template to structure a meeting report around a specific meeting type, framework, or workflow.
- Open a meeting report.
- Open the Templates drop-down.
- Select a template.
The template is applied to your personal view only. Nothing changes for anyone else.
To go back to the default template, Read AI Recap, select it in the template picker at any time.
Using the mobile app? See Applying report templates in the mobile app.
To have Read apply a template automatically, see Configuring rules for applying templates.
Personal vs. shared views
Every meeting report has two views:
- Personal view: Visible only to you. This view is updated first when you apply a template.
- Shared view: Visible to everyone with access to the report. This view changes only when an owner or editor publishes their personal view.
You can try different templates in your personal view without affecting teammates or external viewers, such as customers or prospects.
Publish a template to the shared view
When you’re ready to make your template and report layout visible to everyone:
- Open the Templates drop-down.
- Select Set as Shared View.
- Confirm that you want to update the shared view.
You’ll also be asked whether to set the template as the shared view right after you apply it. You can confirm, or dismiss the prompt and publish your view later.
Only meeting report owners and editors can update the shared view.
Additional considerations
- View indicator: The meeting report shows whether you’re looking at your personal view or the shared view. You can switch between them at any time.
- Editing a template: Changes to a template affect everyone who uses that template. Read AI shows a reminder before you save your changes.
- Pushing a report to a CRM: When you push a report to a CRM manually, Read AI sends your personal view. That way you can keep a customer-friendly shared view and still send the format you prefer to your CRM. Reports pushed to your CRM automatically use the Push Template set in your integration settings instead. See Automatically push templated reports to your CRM.
