Custom report templates let you define exactly how Read AI structures the information in your meeting reports. You can create a template tailored to a specific meeting type, framework, or workflow, then apply it to your reports for more consistent and relevant outputs.
Start from scratch or use an existing template
You can build a custom template in two ways:
- Start from scratch: Create a new template and define its structure and instructions yourself. This is useful when your organization follows a unique process or you need a report tailored to a specific type of meeting.
- Duplicate a pre-built template: Choose an existing Read AI template, duplicate it, and customize the copy. This can be helpful when an existing framework is close to what you need but requires different sections, instructions, or terminology. This gives you a ready-made structure to build on while keeping the original template unchanged.
Create a custom template
To create and apply a custom report template:
- Open a meeting report and select the Templates dropdown.
- Select All Templates to open the full template library.
- Select Create New Template.
- Enter a name for your template and provide instructions describing how the meeting report should be structured. Include the sections you want the report to contain and the information Read should capture in each section.
- Select Save to create the template.
- Select Apply Template to use your new template on the meeting report you currently have open.
Applying the template updates the report using the structure and instructions you provided.
Custom templates in workspaces
If you belong to a workspace, the custom templates you create are available to everyone in that workspace by default. This helps teams use consistent report structures across meetings and workflows.
Because workspace members can access custom templates, use clear, descriptive names so others can easily understand when each template should be used.
