This article explains how to turn on Readouts for your account or Workspace. To learn what Readouts are, see Readouts: Summaries for your Email and Messaging.
Readouts take about a minute to set up. On the Free plan, you get 14 days of Readouts after you first connect an email or messaging integration. After that, you’ll need a paid plan to keep getting them. Paid plans have unlimited Readouts.

Supported platforms
Readouts currently support:
- Email: Gmail and Outlook
- Messaging: Slack and Microsoft Teams
If you’d like Readouts to support another app, please contact Read Support to share your feedback.
Turning on Readouts for your account
- Go to your Integrations page and connect any of the Readout integrations: Gmail Sync to Read, Outlook Sync to Read, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.
- Your first Readout may take a little while to generate. You’ll find your Readouts on your Reports page. To see only Readouts, choose Topic Readouts in the Type filter.
If an integration shows as disabled, a Workspace admin needs to turn it on first (see Turning on Readouts for your Workspace).

Turning on Readouts for your Workspace
If the Readout integrations are turned off for your Workspace, a Workspace owner or admin can turn them on:
- Go to Workspace Settings > Settings and expand the Integrations section.
- Turn on the switch for each integration you want to allow: Gmail Sync to Read, Outlook Sync to Read, Slack, and/or Microsoft Teams.
Each member of your Workspace still needs to connect the integration for their own account.
Sharing your Readouts
Readouts are private to your account by default. To share one with other Read users, click Share at the top of the report. You can stop sharing at any time.
You can also send a Readout through Slack, Teams, or email using the Send Via… button. This lets you choose what information to include.
Managing Readout notifications
To choose how you’re notified about Readouts, go to Account Settings > Notifications and update your Topic Readouts setting. You can get notifications by email, Slack, and/or Teams. For more about Topic Readouts, see How to Enable Read AI Agents.
If you use Microsoft Teams, you can also get Daily Summaries in Teams. See Teams Daily Summaries for chat and channels.
