The Read AI App for iPhone lets you capture audio from your iPhone and see a real-time AI-generated transcript and summary. Just open Read AI and tap Record to capture audio from any conversation.
Whether you're meeting a client in person, sitting in a lecture, or brainstorming an idea out loud, Read will record, transcribe, and summarize the audio in real time. When the conversation is over, Read generates a full meeting report that you can keep private or share with others. Most reports are ready in about 5–15 minutes; longer meetings can take more time. See How long should it take for a report to finish processing?
You can also review your Read AI meeting reports in the app, including summaries and transcripts, wherever you are. On Enterprise and Enterprise+ plans, you can also play back audio and video. Recordings from your iPhone appear alongside your Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams meetings.
Note: The app can't record phone calls, FaceTime calls, or virtual meetings on your iPhone, because another app is already using the microphone. To have Read capture a virtual meeting you're joining from your phone, see Can I use Read's mobile app to record calls from my phone?
Download the app
Read AI: Transcripts and Notes is available on the Apple App Store. Open the link on your iPhone and tap Get to install it.
Your iPhone must be running iOS 18.0 or later. If you already have a Read AI account, sign in the same way you usually do. For example, if you use Google sign-in on the web, use Google sign-in in the app too. That way your meeting reports will show up in the app.
Record a meeting on your iPhone
- Scheduled meeting: Tap Record under the Upcoming heading at the top of the Home tab. The recording is automatically named after the calendar event.
- Unscheduled meeting: Tap the Record button at the bottom of the Home tab. You'll be asked to name the meeting when you finish recording.
Adjust your account settings and notifications
Tap your initials in the top right of the app to open your account settings. You'll have access to all the Read account settings available to you on the web, including managing auto-join and setting report distribution.
