Read offers a Zoom app, which is a great tool for anyone who uses Read on Zoom calls. With the Zoom app, you can:
- Have Read automatically join your Zoom calls by connecting your Zoom calendar
- Add Read manually to a Zoom call
- Access the live meeting dashboard, with real-time notes, transcription, metrics, and other meeting tools
- Use the full Read web app (https://app.read.ai/) directly in Zoom to view reports, update settings, and more
This article will walk through how to install (and uninstall) Read's Zoom app.
Installing the Zoom app
You can easily find and install Read's app from the Zoom App Marketplace:
- Go to Read's app listing, either on Zoom's website or by searching for Read under "Add Apps" in the Zoom UI.
- Click on the blue "Add" button*:
-
Review and approve the necessary permissions for Read:
- After allowing, you'll get redirected to Read's web app.
- You should now be able to find and open Read via the "Apps" button in your Zoom desktop client, under "My Apps":
*Note that you may need your Zoom account owner or admin to enable Zoom Apps and/or pre-approve Read's app before you can install it. You can find instructions on setting up Zoom Apps below.
Enabling apps in your Zoom account
Depending on the configurations of your Zoom account, you may need to contact your account owner or admin to enable Zoom Apps for your account. Once enabled, all Zoom users in your organization will be able to access Zoom Apps.
In addition, pre-approval of Zoom Apps may be required in your account. If this is the case, your account owner or admin will need to pre-approve the Read app in the Zoom App Marketplace. This can be done at the level of the user, user group or all users on the account.
If you need to get pre-approval for Read Meeting Navigator, you will see a message like this when you attempt to install the app:

Tips & Tricks
A couple other tips to ensure you have the best experience with Zoom Apps:
- Make sure you have the necessary settings configured to allow Read to join your calls and record them
- Upgrade to the latest version of Zoom if you haven’t already. Ask all meeting attendees to upgrade as well. If attendees join with an out-of-date version of Zoom, there is a chance they might not be able to participate.
- Keep in mind that Zoom Apps currently only work for desktop (Mac and Windows).
Uninstalling the Zoom app
To uninstall Read's Zoom app, simply follow these steps:
- Login to your Zoom account through Zoom's website: https://zoom.us/signin
- Navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace and click Manage > Installed Apps (or go directly to this link: https://marketplace.zoom.us/user/installed)
- Find the Read app listed on this page
- Click Remove
Please note that doing this should also disable your Zoom integration with Read, so Read will no longer automatically join your Zoom meetings to generate meeting reports. If you have connected a Google or Outlook calendar to Read, you may still receive meeting reports for the events on those calendars.
If you would still like to have Read join your Zoom meetings (and just not use the app), you can reenable Zoom by going to the Zoom Calendar entry on Apps & Integrations and clicking "Connect".
