February 2, 2026 The Live Notes with Microsoft OneNote feature has been deprecated. If you rely on real-time visibility, you can continue using the Read AI live dashboard (see Using Read's live meeting dashboard). Read AI no longer streams live transcription and summaries to Google Docs or OneNote. Instead, your full meeting report is automatically saved to your connected Google Docs or Microsoft OneNote account after the meeting ends, once processing is complete (usually about 5-15 minutes; see How long should it take for a report to finish processing?). |
There are a few ways to automatically push meeting reports with Read AI. This article explains how to push meeting reports to Microsoft OneNote. For other options, see below.
Enabling the Microsoft OneNote integration
- Go to your Integrations page, find Microsoft OneNote in the Notetaking section, and click Connect.
- Sign in with Microsoft and approve the permissions. You'll then be sent back to the Integrations page.
- Make sure the Auto-Save Meeting Notes in OneNote setting is turned on. This is required for Read to push your meeting notes to OneNote automatically.
The OneNote integration asks Microsoft for permission to:
- Sign you in and see your basic profile information, such as your name and email address (OpenID, Email, Profile, User.Read)
- Create and update OneNote notebooks (OneNote read/write)
- Create and update files in your OneDrive, where OneNote notebooks are stored (OneDrive read/write)
By default, these notebooks are only visible to you, but you can change the sharing directly in OneNote after they're created.
How it works
Finding your meeting reports in Microsoft OneNote
All meeting reports are saved to a notebook called Read AI Meeting Notes, in the default location for new OneNote notebooks in your Microsoft OneDrive. Please don't rename or move this notebook, or Read will create a new one in the same location after your next meeting.
To find it, sign in to OneDrive:
Inside the notebook, there's a section called Meeting Notes with a page for each meeting report. Each page is named with the date of the meeting (in YYYY-MM-DD format), followed by the meeting title.
If you added Read manually (see How do I manually add Read to a live meeting?), the title won't come from a calendar event and may be something generic like "Teams Meeting." See Why are my meeting titles not being saved in the meeting report?
Contents of the meeting reports
Each page will look something like this:
Each page includes:
- Metadata at the top (meeting title, link to the report on read.ai, event time, platform, and participants)
- AI-generated summary, with a chapters and topics breakdown
- Action items
- Key questions
- Full transcript
To change who can see a page, click Share in the top right of OneNote.
My meeting notes did not push to OneNote. What happened?
Read doesn't push incomplete meeting notes to Microsoft OneNote. If a report is listed on the Incomplete tab of your Reports page, it won't be pushed.
You also need direct access to the meeting report. A report won't be pushed if you only have access to it through:
- Your Workspace's Team Report Access or Global Report Access
- The report owner sharing it with you manually after the meeting ended
Right now, there's no way to manually push meeting notes to Microsoft OneNote if the automatic push didn't happen.

How do I get live notes?
The Microsoft OneNote integration used to support live notes, but this feature was deprecated in February 2026. If you still want live summaries or a live transcript, use the live meeting dashboard, where you can see live notes and real-time metrics and use other tools during your meeting.
